ABOUT US
Welcome to our new digs at 2446 Agricola Street in Halifax, only minutes from downtown. With the impending demolition of our old restaurant site to make way for another apartment tower, we made the decision to move early so we could choose the perfect location in the same north end neighbourhood.
We brought the same cheerful staff with the same menu and made a few additions to it. We have a small patio in front of the restaurant as well as a secluded patio that seats 30 in the backyard. Our private underground dining below the restaurant can host private dinners, or business meetings for up to 20 people.
The Pratt Brothers grew up in the restaurant industry working in their family restaurants in Halifax NS. They spent a summer working with Chef Michael Smith at the Inn at Bay Fortune in PEI before going onto the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, PEI. They spent a summer doing their internship at The Merchant Tavern in St. John’s NF. After graduation, they joined the Canadian Youth Culinary Olympic Team and won silver medals in Luxembourg. They also spent a season working at the famous Terrafina Restaurant of Hester Creek Winery, Oliver, BC. And to top it off, they travelled extensively throughout Asia, visiting, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea and Singapore researching menu ideas to create an ambitious menu with an Asian-fusion twist in order to provide an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
Nestled only 3 blocks from the Halifax Commons, Studio East Asian Gastropub offers a unique blend of exquisitely crafted Asian dishes, local craft beer, and vibrant, original cocktails. We look forward to welcoming you to what we’ve created for you to enjoy.
